Texas A&M University Standard Administrative Procedure 25.99.08.M1.01 describes Communication Allowances which are available to eligible Texas A&M employees. Allowances are paid to eligible employees through a payroll supplement and do not increase the employee's base salary.
Communication Allowances comprise two components:
- One-time allowance for equipment and activation fees, and
- Monthly allocations, via salary supplements, for service plans.
To subscribe to a Communication Allowances Rate Plan, or to change an existing plan, a "Monthly Communication Allowances Enrollment" form must be completed and submitted to the Texas A&M University Payroll Services Office.
Existing Texas A&M-owned cellular telephones, personal digital assistants (PDA) cellular telephone/PDA combination devices, and related accessories may be transferred to eligible employees. To document such a transfer, please submit a Communications Equipment Transfer form to the Surplus Property Office, Mail Stop 1477.
